Dear Marty,
I have written songs. I both sing and play the guitar fairly well.
I have financial savings destined for retirement, but I can use them to record an album in world class quality and publish it professionally.
My problem is doubt. What if it doesn't work? What if I get completely broke? Is there any way to calculate the amount of risk?
Besides music being made of - and with - love and passion, I need to eat and need a roof. I say this last sentence because you seem to always say music is number one. However, there is the practical aspect involved indeed and that is what holds me back a bit.
With appreciation,
Pete

Be prepared to get a zero return on your investment. Also be prepared to go over your original budget. If you have enough money to cover that, go for it. If not, it is an unreasonable gamble. Artists usually make albums by having others take the financial risks. To be honest, your opening line doesn`t exactly make you sound like you should be considering it yet. Best of luck. |
