  QUESTION:

Mey Marty, how are you? Hope all is well. I will start off like most fans by saying simply that words cannot express how much you have influenced me and my friends through your beautiful music, if you are anything like me then modesty will be a first reaction to this, but i see you as the greatest guitarist of this generation. I know that you would hear this question alot but I just want to clarify what gear you used on Rust In Peace. I have read that it was a Jackson Kelly with a Duncan "JBJ", various Crate cabs and Marshall heads. Is this right? Also if I bought a cheaper Jackson Kelly model with Duncan JB and jazz pickups would I be able to emulate a sound similar to yours and if you've played them ever, do the cheaper kellys play well? As in speed, easy playability, can you control the higher fret easily etc. Also your sweeping in various solos is so clean! I dont understand how you get such a good sweeping sound on a treble pickup as i currently have an Ibanez RG which is a decent guitar but sounds really muddy when sweeping compared to my Fender Strat which has a rich sweeping tone but is no good for heavier rock and metal. I also find it difficult to play some of your style songs and solos as they are incredibly intricate and fast.. Would a cheaper Kelly with Duncans in it be able to produce such a rich sound or is it just your amazing playing? Any help would be much appreciated. Any chance of a tour to Australia by the way? We would all love to see you here Marty. Cheers, Nick.
