Title : An Appreciation & some GEAR Questions

  QUESTION:

Marty, you are the Musician I admire the most. Nobody transmit me his inner feelings like you, medium the music and, of course, medium the guitar. I can’t separate technique from composition in a real musician, you have best of both. The cry of your energizing vibrato makes me feel live, and the deep sorrow of your melodies seems to flow direct from the heart. For all this you had given me, THANK YOU very much in deed Marty, and thank you for read this lines. Yours truly. Luis, from Cadiz (Spain) *I have some quite short questions, I’ll be very grateful to you if you can answer them. Here we go: 1)-Do you Really uses the Harmonist HR-2 for live harmonization? I have it and, you know…it fails a lot. 2)-Which are your favourite intervals for a Triple Harmony? (I love harmonization too, specially for that Japanese flavour) 3)-I checked you have used the Metal Zone, the superb Sansamp, or Boss GT6 right now. So, don’t you use the distortion channel of your Crate amp to overdrive your tone? 4)-The “Countdown” is my favourite heavy album (after “Dragon’s kiss” and “Go off”, of course!). Which was the gear choice for your solos and rhythm tracks? 5)-You says you like Fuzzy tones, What do you think about Big Muff Pi? That’s all, Marty. Arigato. Luis. PD - If you like Flamenco music, I highly recommend you one of the best players: Vicente Amigo, “vivencias imaginadas”album –with Paco de Lucia (from Cadiz, like me!…but this fact doesn’t implies anything…unfortunately) playing in “querido Metheny”.
